    Taking a break

    Advertisements

I really enjoy posting and sparing with some of you. Some students have told me privately they prefer I not post. I am obviously not very good at it! Obviously some of you have a lot of anger towards the school, me, others and feel totally let down. I have tried my best to get some constructive honest dialog going but some peoples anger possibly deserved maybe not is getting in the way of my being a constructive force on the board. I am pretty thick skinned but those who really know me know how hard I am trying and this constantly getting put down despite my genuine best efforts to build some professionalism here is a bit more than I can take on a regular basis. I am human also and have feelings. I do take all the complaints very seriously and despite any things I have done which I feel are positive a few of you think I am just another "jerk" in the post of Dean. Another in a long line of people covering up or hiding truths from you.

MUA is a great school not just a good school but a great school. And I rightly or wrongly on a daily basis try to do the best job I can for all of you. It is one of the least expensive schools with NY approval. Has some great profs and a beautiful new building on the way.

I am going to take a break from posting indefinitely.

This was an honest attempt on my part to give all of you access to me. But I will not tolerate disrespect especially as hard as I am trying to satisfy you students and the administration simultaneously. A very tough job. Someone said to walk in their shoes. Some of you might try walking in mine. My best to all Dean T

Dean T, don't let a couple of bad apples keep you down. You know and the vast majority of the school likes you alot. Compared to our old dean who practically did nothing for the school and on top of that was medically incompetent, lazy, and not to mention arrogant............you are the best dean a school can ask for......and i mean that, any medical school ANYWHERE would be honored and lucky to have you run their school........don't let people like 'bewild' keep you down........by the way that person is an angry student who barely passed the post-test 2 weeks ago.....and that person also failed neuro 3 semesters back.......anyway, if any of us offended you, i'm sorry on everybody's behalf.............don't go anywhere, stay on the forum and keep posting..........your comments are welcomed and you make the MUA forum an interesting and great place to relax, vent, and enjoy reading............ -an appreciative student

I think MUA is lucky to have a dean who is responsive and has come down to a student's level (as a friend) to interact about everything and anything 24/7. I have seen him bow down infront of class to apologize and I have seen him salute a student just as a friend. He is an authority figure at the school and just because he is open to students does not mean that anyone should disrespect him.

To the bashers - You are better off with a dean that listens to you than none. Stop this immaturity and look towards positively building this school. If you have an opinion, he is welcoming it but in a constructive manner which I think he has repeated over 20 times....Voice your concerns and opinions RESPECTFULLY or you will have no one to say anything to which would be the biggest LOSS!!

Dean T - I applaud you for achieving some "noticable differences" in a small amount of time. Please don't let a few students' immaturity get to you. Although posting here is your personal choice, I think you should still stay here at valuemd as our dean and friend. Many thanks to you.

Dean T ...dont let this stuff get to you so soon..part of the job is dealing with unstable people and sane people. This is obv. one guy that has an axe to grind and you are the easy target. Most students I have spoken to tend to agree that there are positive changes since you arrived. If I have concerns, I will rather PM you with them and if you still dont respond (and you always do respond so far) then post a note here. Maybe others can do the same...just a suggestion.

Yeah, don't quit, they will treat you a lot better than the "old dean", who has been gone two semesters, and never tried to defend himself against anonymous rants.

It is always a lot more fun to make jabs without identifying yourself and having to communicate in the open.

    Dr. T:

    You're doing great!

I admire you're humility and conviction to make MUA better. Please don't give up on it.

    I sincerely believe in you.

In 3-5 years time when we've all become doctors, we will recall all the HARD changes you implemented to make it possible for us to achieve our goal of becoming physicians of tomorrow.

    Cheers!

    Please stay involved, Dean T!!

    Hey out there, Dean T,

We know you are human and have feelings, but please be aware that the VAST MAJORITY of students are VERY SATISFIED with the OUTSTANDING JOB you are doing at MUA! We are very fortunate to have such a special, caring, highly qualified MD to be our dean! Any school or organization would be lucky to have such a dynamic person such as yourself in charge!! Please, please keep up the great work! We need and appreciate you! Your high level of involvement on campus and online is an incredible asset to MUA! Don't let a few bad apples spoil your positive spirit! Thanks for all you do!!
