    Good Med School

This University will be one of the better places in a few years ...just give it time. Things need changing and they are ....medical school is not for everyone and it is not an easy path ..otherwise everyone would be doing it. The tougher the courses get the better the incoming students will do on step 1 etc. I really like the fact that the Dean is reading our exams before we take them, excellent step...let a real doc take the tests! The only negative is the 90% rule for some classes ie Pharm, please drop that to 80% like the rest. We need more time in the day to get through path...otherwise keep up the good work Dean T.

PS Also securing a loan provider that does not require a cosigner as many students have no avenue for cosigners. We are in med school and clinicals ..how can we be employed at the same time. We need a similar product as HXpress. PLease help us out MUA!

    Abuse

By abuse from professors, would a certain neuroscience professor publically humiliating a fellow student last semester for wearing a camouflage garment count? He also said that no males were allowed to wear 'wife beaters', his very eloquent description of tank tops. Oh, but he said it was fine for females to wear them.

Guess what, I saw that same prof 2 days ago wearing camouflage shorts!?!

    Letís have some standards here!

Yes, this is the same professor who called a student a "dumb As*" for not holding the brain properly during the lab. After that, student confronted the instructor in private requesting some respect, the student for some unknown reason failed the following exam.

    Replies......

These last three posts bother me GREATLY, let me say that I will not tolerate any disrespectful behavior towards students. EVER EVER. I willcomplete this post with PM's to the above posters so as to not publicly humiliate any faculty. Respect even for those who have done things improperly is not a bad thing. Always be sensitive to other human beings EVEN if they have done something wrong. Sometimes they are so self centered or so immune to others that they don't realize that they have been offensive. The high road is still to make sure you don't cause THEM the same pain they caused others. I again WILL NOT TOLERATE THE BEHAVIOR OF PROFESSORS THAT DISRESPECTS STUDENTS, I will PM those above. My personal apologies to anyone who felt the wrath/insensitivity of any of MY faculty.I will work tirelessly to make sure it doesn't happen anymore.

Naieve to Cynic tried to PM you

I wanted to tell you what I was doing about issues raised. I will not tolerate harrassment of any kind on my campus. I did PM whoru2 so if you know who she is you can ask her or PM her ask her what I said if you give her a way to get back to you or a way for me to get back to you. The contents are not appropriate for a public post.

    Joe

Please be constructive, I know what you are trying to say about the person but a public forum is not the place for a negative comment that is so thinly veiled. Constructive, Respect. I know how you feel about the issue and I am not saying I don't share your sentiments personally but please that is the kind of thing I would prefer that you PM me. Doctors must be at the highest level of sensitivity to others and ethics, always be professional and show respect for professors in public. What you tell me in private is between us, promise.
