The Only Way To Get Through Mua Is To Be A Cheater

    Advertisements

do not go to MUA unless you are willing to cheat. The only way to get through this school is to cheat. The old dean left and many other great faculty members b/c no one can deal with the owner of the school. He is a ***** and will only do things his way. The new dean is only a *** ***. He has even said it in a faculty meeting. This school does not care about it students. The do random drug tests and then come in and pull students out and break the confidentially of students. Referring to ******** *******. The school is very corrupt. The locals extort students and blame everything on the students. They break into students homes and the school does nothing about it. Everyone cheats on the post test and even last sememster the school has 2 hard copies of the exact post test and did nothing about it. NEVER GO TO THIS SCHOOL. Also you will see a lot of messages down playing this thread and that is b/c it is monitored by faculty of MUA.

    hey man
why are you dissing our school? That's not nice...
I think MUA is cool, plus we have a sexy name that always manages to charm the ladies whenever they ask me where I go to school.

Threads like this pop up in every forum. Regardless of whether the allegations are true, most of us spend a limited amount of time on the islands and its best to ignore stuff like this and focus on the MLE, which is somewhat more difficult to cheat on.

I had a great time on the island, got to know a lot of the locals, rarely locked my door and never had a problem. I also passed step 1 and 2 easily the first time, went straight through (back to back) clinicals, and got a great residency that Iím thrilled with, passed step 3 (first time) and am currently awaiting my full unrestricted license. MUA provides you with everything you need if youíre a motivated student and it gives you the opportunity to practice medicine in most states. Itís not a cakewalk and the people that bi****d the most while I was on the island or in clinicals were always the people that struggled with the material and were failing classes. The vast majority of the students just got the work done, moved on, and are now in residency. No school is perfect but from personal experience and that of most of my classmates/friends MUA will get you where you need to go if you put in the effort and have the aptitude.

Windowlicker-give me a call next time you're in NOLA.

    Partially correct...

In the past, MUA was a breeding ground for inventive cheaters... Students would steal exams, professors would use tests over and over (which isn't cheating, just lazy professors), Professors would just sit up front and not monitor the class, and of course the enfamous cheat sheet for the Kaplan Post Test...

Those days are now gone. Professors are required to write new tests, have several different versions, and two professors are required to monitor the exam at all times. Plus thanks to some honest students that brought the Kaplan "cheat sheet" to the attention of our adminstration, we now have a brand new Kaplan Post Test... So although cheating has been rampant before, it is few and far between now. Which is good because it levels the playing field and requires us to all learn the information we need to get through here.

I'm still not sure why people bother cheating. the time spent trying to cheet or "figure out the system" is much better spent studying.

Also, when it comes time for step one, cheating will surely catch up those individuals. Like the previous posting said, if cheating may have occured but it is very rare now.
