Airline check-in baggage - things missing

    Advertisements

has anyone has things go missing in the check-in baggage when they have had a flight to or from Nevis?

I think I have lost a webcam when I flew to Nevis and from Nevis they took out sea-shells (not too concerned about the shells). I'm wondering if my experience is isolated or if others have had similar experiences.

I hadn't heard of things being missing in Nevis, but I do know that things are taken out of people's packages when they ship via the postal service (always go Fedex or DHL!)

I wouldn't surprised if what you say does happen though...

Did you guys have locks on your bags? I was going to put TSA approved locks on all my bags and insure the one with all the expensive stuff.

in the event that your things go 'missing', was there anything you could do about it or just had to let it slide?

personally, I wouldn't lock my bags because if they want to go through them they just cut the locks.

I'm not sure what exactly TSA approved locks are

TSA approved locks are locks that the TSA officials have "universal" keys to.

You can go here: TSA: Air Travel

Just follow the links, it seems there are 2 specific companies that make them. I think prices range in and around $10 a piece, depending on the one you buy. You can find them at local stores like Wal Mart, Target, Home Depot, etc. As mentioned above if they're going to cut the locks to get to your stuff then definately put the insurance on the bags, I know I will.
