    A couple questions

    Advertisements

    1. Given that Mua and Saba don't have federal loan status does that have any affect on in school deferments for federal loans that we already have from undergrad? Guess what I am asking is that if i end up going to one of these two schools will I be able to defer my undergrad loans.

    2. I know this has been discussed over and over but besides California and Texas are there any other states that MUA grads are inelligible to practice in? I know the states I eventually plan on settling down in are safe but I can see myself doing locum tenens for a good while before settling down so options are nice.

    3. How important are EC for applying to the well known carribean schools? I work full time and go to school full time so it's difficult to do the volunteering etc given that the closest city with major hospitals are an hour away.

    Thank you

I was a little worried about deferment of my undergrad loans as well. So I contacted my lenders (Wells Fargo & AES) and they told me that as long as I can send them official proof of enrollment and an anticipated graduation date deferment would not be a problem. They said if by some reason deferment was not available they have numerous other options such as forbearance, economic hardship, and a few more. So I'd advise to call your lender and ask them on their protocol.

As for states we won't be eligible in, besides the obvious two the other one that comes to mind is Kansas and thats just because they have a rule where the school has to be 15 years old or something like that. There are a few more states but I can't think of them, just do a quick search of the forums and you'll find them.

As for volunteering? I really didn't do too much of it and I was never asked about it. Along with applying to MUA I applied to the "big 5" and it didn't seem like a big issue, but I guess it could be case be case. Hope I was of some help.
