    What's Up With Mua

    Advertisements

I thought MUA does not base admissions on MCAT scores, but I have read several posts that convey the idea that, they are now insistent on average to high scores to even warrant an interview. Does anyone know what the deal is here? I spoke to someone at thier office once that told me to go ahead and apply and I would be considered even though I did not have MCAT score and that from 2008 it would become a basic requirement.Any light on what is going on with them apart from the obvious..????

First off, get used to asking the source (MUA Gardner) these questions, and believe their answer. You'll do best in school if you go the source for yoru questions.

    2. Apply before MCAT is required.

    3. MCAT is becoming a requirement because MUA is a very good school and is VERY QUICKLY rising in competition, OVER-FILLING every semester.

    Best of luck

    FOTL-

I agree with you 100%. MUA is a terrific school and we're definitely becoming very competitive. SABA and MUA are sister schools and they're both catering to a small class size, which makes it harder to get admitted. No matter what though, you can make it anywhere you want so don't worry about anything. Good luck to prospective applicants and congrats to new admittees.

FOTL is absolutely correct, this place is expanding like wildfire. i am amazed at how fast the new building is shooting up. the classes are filled to the top. when we came to med 1 we had 66 people in our class. next semester they have 100. in january when the new buildign opens GOD knows how many more they will accept.

I think you will be fine though. try to write a compelling letter head and have a good interview...
