    Tuition increase

    Advertisements

just received a letting today regarding a tuition increase for both the basic science ($7450) component and the clinical medicine program ($8450).

Is to common to have tuition increase at MUA over the course of your education? I am wanted to know so I can budget accordingly.

In my first semester, tuition was 4950, 2nd-5th semester was 5950, then in clinical semester 6-7 it was 6450, then it became 7450, not even sure what it is now; you get the idea.... I just keep thinking to myself, "still cheaper than SGU" hehe..

It's not a definite increase every semester; it's more something they do after 1-2 yrs; but i think they've reached the maximum amount they can increase it to; another 1-2 more thousand and they will be at the Ross/AUC level.

according this this web site Ross is
    Basic Science Tuition: $12,125/semester
    Clinical Science Tuition: $13,250/semester

Also, Ross can always increase their tuition. MUA is still much less expensive in regards to tuition compared to Ross (and AUC I assuming); however, there is still plenty of opportunity for MUA to increase tuition and be less expensive. Another factor I'm thinking is the number of students that apply, as the school becomes more in demand they can charge more tuition and have it not influence enrollment significanlty.

I'm a new student starting at MUA and I'm taken back that tuition can potentially go up by a sizeable amount (10-20%), multiple times over the course of education. Atleast that is the impression I'm getting.

MUA is a private for-profit school; they can do whatever they want.
