    California State Approval?

    Advertisements

Hello. Can anyone please tell me if MUA currently has or is pending California state approval? Please let me know, or let me know where I could locate that information.

    Thanks!

No California approval, did not apply yet, no plans in the immediate future. Ross, Auc, SGU, Saba and UWI are the ONLY California approved schools in the Caribbean.

An official from the head office came to class recently she said not to expect California for a long time because the school wants to make sure it gets acceptance and not banned like St. Matt's. She said to not consider even applying for 2 years.

So if you have to get California then look at other schools.

That's not going to be hard for them because MUA is modeled after Saba. Just follow the formula and they will be fine.

To correct a bit of misinformation.
There are more California approved schools than those listed above. For example in the Dominican Republic alone there is:

Autonomous University of Santo Domingo Faculty of Medicine
Central University of the East School of Medicine (UCE)
    Mother and Master Catholic University
National University of Pedro Henriquez Urena
Nordestana University Faculty of Medical Sciences
Technical Institute of Santo Domingo School of Medicine (INTEC)

My advice is to query the respective licensing board if you want information about the requirements for a license in a particular state. The same goes for the USMLE. If you want information, go to the source and do not rely in misinformation or hearsay because it can be misleading with disasterous results.

BTW: UASD is the oldest university in the Western Hemisphere (1537)

No, there have been universities in Europe sine about 900AD, even the University of Paris was founded in 1100. Supposedly the first universities were founded in China about 3000 years ago, but the first universities (in the modern sense) were in Europe. Depends on whether you consider Europe to be in the 'western hemisphere'... I do

Western hemisphere, is a geopolitical term for the Americas and associated islands and waters (or the New World). It is derived from the geographical term of western hemisphere, which is the half of the Earth that lies west of the Prime Meridian. Usage has shifted in modernity so that the term generally refers collectively to the Americas and their inhabitants, including associated islands like the West Indies and Greenland, while excluding other territories that lie geographically in the hemisphere like parts of Africa, Europe, Antarctica, and Asia.
