    New buildings/construction at MUA-Nevis??

    Advertisements

    Hi,

Just posing this question to those current students (or anyone else with info regarding this matter), does MUA-Nevis have any plans to expand the campus with any additional facilities and so forth?

I know that Saba was a three phase project....just curious about MUA...read a post several months ago along this topic but I cant find it

Im just trying to see the growth and expansion of the school since it is accepting alot more students...

    K. any input would be great

I talked with someone the other day, Elizabeth Mazanec, she said they were hoping to have a new huge building started soon. I know they built a new building in the last year or so also. I want to say she said the new building was a 20,000 square foot building, but don't quote me on that.

They just closed the deal on the lot fronting the soccer field last semester. They said then that they were hoping to break ground this semester but that remains to be seen. Anyway from what I've heard, the new building will house the new computer testing center, etc.

The school definitely has plans to grow, its on the works. When that plan gets to fruition, we dont know yet.

They actually mention the expansion on their webpage if you look through it. 22,000 square foot building.

    Okay heres the update...

so I just got off the phone with Dr. N and he said that they are waiting to break ground any day (due to delays with the contractor) to begin construction on a new building that will house more classrooms, computer testing labs, offices.... he mentioned that this new building will be far greater in size than the library (approx.in excess of 20, 000 sq. ft.....the library is only 10,000 sq. ft.).....

this is great news as I can clearly see as a future student that the school is experiencing tremendous growth and they are investing the money back into the facilities and students (whereas other institutions lease their property)....

the campus doesnt look that big because its spread over 10acres of land, but the amount of space of the school is going to be comparable to Saba (currently 43,000 sq. ft) once the construction of this new building is completed

keep up the good work MUA & Saba

The school doesn't own the dorms. They are owned by a Nevetian. I would imagine that he will construct more if there is a demand for them.

They are accepting a lot of students, but you have to remember one thing. If you move there with someone (wife, gf, etc) you can live off campus first term. I am sure that is a good portion of the students. Also, how many students do you think actually want to stay on campus after the first term?
