Zback thank you for posting this. This is revolutionary change.Anyone in the area should attend and support this amendment.Arkansas is proposing changing their laws for the better. Please thank all those that caused this change to occur and the Arkansas medical board for finally implementing smart and safe changes that allow qualified graduates to practice in the state. Most importantly let's make sure this amendment passes.
Well, he's had it in for me ever since I "kinda" ran over his dog. Actually, replace "kinda" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Yeah, it did not work at first, you just have to keep refreshing it, then it will eventually load correctly. To anyone who might read this thread, this is a monumental change that could take place and benefit all FMG's. I would advise contacting your state rep or anyone with connections now, since the meeting is tomorrow!

Go to the website and use internet explorer it should open. Yeah this sounds like potentially great news but it needs to be adopted first, which means anyone who can voice their support needs to tomorrow.

Interesting timing on that announcement. March 15. MATCH week. This is the first match where they followed the CA list. I'm guessing they got an earful from residency program directors on the shortage of applicants...

Its the second match since the Ca adoption but regardless I'm glad they have decided to discuss amending the law. Their current policy is essentially a blind blacklisting.

Call the regulations in the state now what you will, but they are wrong. To not allow a life long resident of Arkansas who went the caribbean route, and can pass the steps and do a U.S residency the chance to come back home and fulfill their dream of practicing in Arkansas is just wrong on many levels. Another question, the way I read the amendment it would allow any FMG to apply for a Arkansas residency, is this the way you all understood it?
