    Cheating In Medical Schools?

How do medical schools deal with students that take photos of tests and exams normally?

One would need to assume the staff is intelligent enough to accomplish that and in addition, immune from corruption. Good luck

People were giving and still do give CS cases for particular sites after they take the exam. This does explain to me the many cases where FMG's residents I have seen are horrible clinically and can't understand things said to them by patients, yet they passed the CS. It was all made clear to me.

I have taught a class and workshop to help pass CS exam. My students were all seasoned attendings from prestigious universities that are very difficult to gain admission to.
IMO(25 years since graduation and USA practice) they were all excellent clinically and professionally. i would go to them or send my children.

Some have not passed the CS exam yet and I believe it is not because of lck of clinical skill/accumen or language ability as they speak english quite well.
FYI, not too long ago USMS from top schools did significantly worse than their IMG peers on CS exam. nowadays USMS prepare specifically for CS and use the same tools as IMG's.

Many cases do repeat and or are worded differently. What is wrong with reviewing past cases? It is part of learning, although the hopefully the knowledge is retained for use while training and after.

I have worked with some AMG's that were incredibly bad clinically. One such AMG (from California medical school no less) had done an internship year and obtained a license. We worked together at a federal(military) urgent care center. If a patient came in with mosquito bite he'd be on the phone asking for a derm consult. Someone with a headache, neurology or even neurosurgery consult. Menstrual cramps= OBGYN consult, tinea pedis=derm consult etc etc. Specialists were pulling their hair out and were extremely pissed. Inevitably I became his teaching attending while also seeing patients. It was like I had a 3rd year medical student to supervise.

I told on someone who cheated and then I had people go out of their way to spread rumors about me and torment me and I encountered bullying. The dean's office provided no privacy. This is Poland though, and I consider the education based on what I encountered a joke.

This is Poland though, and I consider the education based on what I encountered a joke. I ended up dropping out of University, and being threatened by the Vice Dean Ziemnicka from fear of 'bad PR'. Cheating at this University is incredibly wide spread. My experience here was a BIG JOKE... honestly...

Cheating is one of the most threatening issues in the education sphere and the medical field isn't an exception. There are lots of medical students who, unfortunately, try to cheat at exams or even worse, use somebody's ideas in their research and present them as their own (which is an act of plagiarism that can be severely punished). A recent study in Australia has shown that about 25-25% of students admitted on cheating and up to 90% plagiarized another scientist's paper. Such figures are so shocking but, unfortunately, that's the truth.
