    Hi there...

Do you have any college degree or taken any college courses? Also, mind me asking how old you are? Age does matter to some point if you are considering apply in US medical school.

Most US Schools require a college diploma, I believe. However, if you do not want to add another 4 yrs ontop of that, you might consider checking in with a post-baccalaureate premedical program. Once again, they are mostly post-bac. This means they assume you have your college diploma, but there might be a way to become an exception to the rule, assuming you do well in your premedical requirements.

another option is the quicker & cheaper route through college which would be the online University of Phoenix or your local community college perhaps in conjunction with a post-bac premed program.

.Of course you can! I don't see why not you cannot apply to a college and take the premed... 21 is not old at all. Even if I have MD on day, I can still apply for a college and get another BA/** if I am that bored.

I wouldn't worry about being too old -- you're not even old enough to drink alcohol legally in the U.S.! You really should take the time to do things the right way. Go to college, take the prerequisites, get a bachelors degree, and apply to U.S. med schools. If you don't get in, apply to Caribbean schools. There is no reason to rush things. I'm considering the Caribbean route, but I'm 41 and time is more of a factor (and I already have a bachelors degree and a J.D.)

As for college, you should be able to get in somewhere. There are state 4-year schools that have lower admission standards. You could also start out at a community college and transfer to a 4-year school, but you would want to take the med school prerequisites at the 4-year school.

    Good luck.
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

    ...

The median age at Carib schools is around 23 anyway. What are you worried about? Going to med school just with high school background IMO is equivalent to going swimming in the middle of an ocean without a life jacket. The slower you go the further you'll get. Believe that. Good luck.
