AUA is not accreditted in California, but it's a good backup school. So is MUA Nevis and St. Matthews.

Stick to the top 4 if you can, AUC, Saba, Ross and SGU. AUC, Ross and SGU have federal loans and are great if you're an American.

AUA is not accredited in California either, so your option are AUC, SGU, ROSS and SABA. Nobody knows if and when AUA might gain California accreditation since it is a lenghty process.

any other schools I should keep and open mind to when trying to find one that works in Cali?

I believe UAG in Mexico has Cali as do some schools in Eastern Europe. Australia/Ireland are good options as well.

    Seriously Speaking !!!

    Seriously, I would only consider:

    1. European Medical Schools (Western Europe ONLY)
    2. US DO (Osteopathic) Schools
    3. Israel / Australia Medical Schools
    4. SGU or AUC (See AAMC study on USMLE Pass rate)

    That's it folks !!!

Or if you have 150,000$-200,000$ you want to gamble with, go with any other carib medical schools.......seems like I was one of the lucky winners from my graduating class .....

Most Carib med schools, have a pass rate of 20-40% on the USMLEs......DON"T BELIEVE WHAT IS POSTED ON THE MED SCHOOL WEBPAGE !!!

    good choice

Even better........do a MPH or MSc then reapply to a LCME type medical school.....or DO Programs......Did you take the MCAT ??

if all fails.....you will for sure get admitted to AUC or SGU.......my advice.....stick with those 2 ONLY !!!

The rest of the carib Med Schools are for the most part a GAMBLE and VERY risky.......you will end up as an MD w/o license and 200,000$ in the HOLE !!!

    AUC or SGU

Yes, LCME is your 1st bet......then DO.......or MPH/MSc medicals sciences......followed by Caribbean MD --> SGU and AUC.

Ross is ok.......but, SGU and AUC have better international rep......if you can afford them....both are excellent !!!

    Good Luck !!!

PS your tip about carib schools is correct, some schools have poor instructors....some are even IMGs who didn't even pass the USMLEs, or didn't match.

How Ironic is that ??:To learn how to pass the USMLEs from someone that failed the USMLEs and never Matched
