Does anyone know this? I would think it is between SGU and Ross but is the difference marginal?

    Thanks!

probably, but don't forget AUC and saba who've both had some excellent step 1 scores.

the bottom line is how bad do you want it? if you're going to work hard, those four schools will probably give you what you need to do well. so what if you go to a school with the highest step 1 average if you're a slacker.

the higher your mcat and undergrad gpa the higher your usmle score "should" be so probably SGU but people who score in the top 5% would probably be there regardless of school they went to..it is the rest of us who are avg students that benefit from US trained faculty who have taought at US med schools and prep courses

all these are unsupported assertions. frankly the median score is not a useful way to look for schools.

i agree.one should look for other factors which are more relevant to ones decision, such as accreditation, depending on which state you wish to practice, tuition cost depending on your financial position, living conditions etc
a diligent student can make it anywhere, and this has been proven many times.

id be cautious with the "diligent student" view. Try, the best students do well no matter where they go as they are talented independent studiers. Almost by definition, this doesnt apply to students who need to go offshore. Sure there are exceptions. but by and large "offshore" students are exactly those who benefit from good instruction and guinence, and who sink without the organization. but in the choose your school realm, median score aint the way to go and probably isn't readily available information.

I was just curious and thanks so much for the insights. I think I have chosen SGU for Jan -08 considering other factors that are not related with the step 1. This is an interesting thread though.
