Someone brought up a point to me as I explore caribbean medical schools that in the future, enrollment in US medical schools is on the rise due to a supposed future shortage of doctors.

However, does this mean that the number of residency slots will increase or will they stay the same, just squeezing out ID applicants?

Does anyone have a knowledgeable answer or data for this?

Also, does anyone have any data on the number of residency matches from the big 4? Is it 95% for getting accepted somewhere or is it like 60% overall?
