    Books

I had a question regarding books. I'm applying for the Jan 07 term to SGU, AUC, and SABA. I've already been accepted to MUA but that's just as a back up in case I don't get into any of those 3. Since I plan on going in Jan 07 I'll have the next 4 months to prepare so I kinda wanted to start studying beforehand, but since I don't know where I'm going to school yet, I didn't know which books I should be using, so I was wondering if anyone had any idea if most of the schools use the same books or not. Or if anyone could recommend some good books to prepare for step 1 that will probably be helpful no matter where I end up going. Thanks.

For starters - I would say Moore's Anatomy. The made simple series are good intro books and easy reads. For the step test First Aid is a good start.

I call it like I see it. I am not paid by ValueMD or any school. Nor do I recruit for any school.

Thanks, and would you happen to know if any specific schools use these books?

    remeber one thing

basic science is the same in everybook. A good starter book is anatomy. I am sure all anatomy books are pretty much the exact samething, unless there was some kind of evolution that happened.

I understand that you are probably anxious to get started but, I would recommend that you take it easy and pursue other interests for the next four months. Workout, travel, go bar hopping, whatever. It will be very difficult to just read a book and pick up material that is relevant for your classes/boards. At AUC (I don't know for any other school), first semester is by far the easiest and will leave you with enough time to study and do lots of other things anyways.
