Entrance Exam and Interview at 2nd Faculty Prague

    Advertisements

Hi I was just wondering if any other students are attending the exam and interview on the 21st September at 2nd Faculty for medicine.

I recently achieved AABb in my A levels but was not offered a place for medicine in the UK. So I have decided to go to Prague through clearing.

Help and tips are most welcome about exam!!! I hope to c some of you there!!!

Yeah good stuff. I too should be going to the 2nd faculty, Prague. Not sure what tips I can give you for the exam. Your A-levels would have covered everything way and beyond the content of the entrance exam. Basically just relax and your'll be fine.

If anything I can give you some BRILLANMT MONEY SAVING TIPS on getting to Prague. Or at least I think they are brillant. They are:

    1) Book your flight very early. The earlier the better. (e.g. book 8 weeks in advance and a return will cost you 50, book a few days before and you can times that by 3 or 4.)
    2) When you get to Ruzyne airport, PLEASE DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO AVOID EXPENSIVE TAXIS. Especially if you have no luggage. Instead of forking out 5 on a 500 CZK ride, you can pay 20p for the bus and underground for a journey which is a few extra minutes. Simply walk out the airport and straight in front of you is the bus station. Talk the 119 to Dejivica station (the start of the underground). You can get to anywhere in the capital from here. The 2nd faculty is nearest the Andel Metro Stop. Once you get to Andel, the bus station will be in front of you. You want bus 167 which goes to Motol. It should take you around 12 minutes to get to Motol- can't really miss it. Its a massive hospital.
    3) Cheap accomodation. Try to avoid booking over the internet on yahoo as agencies and non-associted press have a monopoly. Try calling the hotel direct and do a search on the czech search. Also Andel station is in Smichov in case you want to stay there for a few days.

    4) Do not get your currency convereted at an english post office. Instead go to your local bank. You can always wait til you get to Prague as they offer some ok rates. But not Ruzyne airport- convert in the city centre.

    Good luck.

Well it depends where you want to stay? Near the airport or maybe right in the centre?? One of the nearest places to the 2nd faculty which has the underground is Smichov. I can pm you a hotels telephone no. and website if you want. (I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to post as it violates TOS).

there is a couple of hostels in Prague, stayed there last January, it costs about $10 per night, I was just driving by and saw one, do not remember the address, but try some search engines, you should be able to find one. Some of them have a way to reserve a spot. good luck

P.S. do not waist your money on hotels, there are cheaper options, Prague can be quite expensive

I would'nt wait til you get to Prague. As a rule of thumb its normally best to book in advance, so definately book it from England.

The 2nd faculty is located away from the centre of Prague, in Motol. I did'nt see any tourist attractions round here (or tourists), just 1 massive hospital. Its pretty much all residential. But if you want to stay as close to the school as possible then there's bound to be some youth hostels or hotels around.

If your only going for 1 day I suppose you could stay right in the centre and see some of the wonderful sites. Prague is quite a small city and you can easily get to the 2nd faculty in under 30 minutes from here. Public transport is very good.

You could also combine the two. You could stay somewhere like Andel or Hradcany near the castle. From here you can easily get the bus to Motol hospital. AND at you can easily walk/travel around the city.

I'm not sure what your plan is. Are you taking the exam first then seeing Prague for 1 day? Or are you coming the day before, sitting the exam then going home? Either way your spoilt for choice.

    Good luck

I'm not to familar with the entrance exam. The 2nd faculties test should be pretty similar to the rest. Your A-levels will be more than suffiecient for the content. The school should normally provide some info. on the subject areas.

Good Luck and if you decide to choose the school see ya there.
