Looking some help on Turkish Med Schools with English Programs ......

    Advertisements

    Hi

Let me start by saying that I am not just trying to be lazy and roll out a question that has been addressed already. I have researched this forum already but most posts on the subject are quite old. I am from Canada, planning to join a Turkish Med School with English program. I have searched through FAIMER but most university websites are deficient on issues like admission requirements for foreign students, fees and academic deadlines.

Any help will be appreciated but I would appreciate if someone who is either currently in any of Turkish Med Schools or has recently graduated shed some light on how to proceed? I mean how to choose a university, find which one is more likely to accept me and then how to shortlist my choices?

    Thank you guys.

    Wan

To be honest this is the first time I've seen anyone looking for info about English language medical school programs in Turkey. Maybe you can give us the benefit of some of your research?

It's strange you're willing to study in Turkey when there are so many options in Eastern Europe. If I can ask, why?

I am a second year international medical student from Turkey. There is a variety of ways to get into med school in turkey like international science Olympiad medal or turkish scholarship program . The most convinced and trusted way is through SAT 1 exam. You should obtain at least 1700 score out of 2400, and at least 500 from math section. You should apply to each university separately and each university accept from 2 to 10 international students every year.
The list of fist 10 Turkish medical faculties:
1-2.Hacettepe University (has both english and turkish programs located in Ankara)
    3. Cerrahpasa medical faculty (english program located in Istanbul)
    4. Capa medical faculty (turkish at the same university with Cerrahpasa, Instanbul)
5-6. Ankara university medical faculty (both english and turkish Ankara)

7-8. Gazi university medical faculty (both enhlish and turkish Ankara)
    9. Erciyes university (turkish located in Kayseri)
    10. Selcuklu medical faculty (turkish located in Konya)

This list is variable. But first 4 are always constant. In in this list private faculties in not included.
Tuition fee to english programs was about 12000tl( 4000$) years ago when i was applying.

Huu, i hope it will help you. Good luck

Thank you!! I am Turkish-American, I was born and raised in America. It is an English program as my Turkish is not that great. Yeditepe seems to have a pretty good reputation, the only thing I'm concerned about is if they help with USMLE prep. It's so hard to get info online or even reach a school rep, so we'll see if I get some of my questions answered.
