the real thing you need to figure is where you want to practice medicine.

That will tell you if MMA is an option for you.

ask them to tell you of graduates of their programs who are practicing in the US or UK. The school isn't well known I think so it is hard to predict your success in licensing. Do they prepare you for the USMLE exam?

    MMA and US

I don't know about the UK, but if you want to practice in the US you need to do the following:

    1. Pass USMLE step 1 with decent score. You can take this test in St. Petersburg or Moscow.

    2. Try to do a clinical rotation in the US (even if you do not get credit for it). This is not a requirement, but it will help you if you want to be picky about your residency program. You will have to pay for this yourself and it can be expensive.

    3. Graduate

    4. Take and pass USMLE step 2 and CSA to get ECFMG certificate.

    5. Apply and get accepted to a residency program (not in California or New Mexico) before your ECFMG certificate expires. In order to assume that you will be accepted, you should probably plan on entering a residency for a specialty that is actually needed instead of one that is over -saturated. Needed programs include Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and OB/GYN. In these areas, you will not have a problem getting a residency as long as you have completed the other steps and you can communicate decently in English.

    6. Apply to make your ECFMG certificate permanent.

    7. After the first year of residency, take and pass USMLE step 3.

    8. Finish residency

    9. Apply for state licensure (this can take a few weeks or 6 months depending on the state).

    10. Start actually working as a licensed doctor

See, and you thought it was hard......

    MMA

    hi there
I see that you are interested in the MMA..
I have studied there and transferred to the People friendship University.
I would definitely recommend you to go to the PFU rather than waste your time at the MMA. the administration is rotten. I am also an international student ( from the USA)..
as an international student you will need to go through an agent to be accepted .. MMA s agent is called MOSLANKA (the boss is known as Dr Saman.. ) and i would recommend you to simplyAVOID THEM...
you can mail me at [email protected] and i can give you all the info you need but for now i can tell you that MMA does not prepare for the USMLE... the level of education is low.... the profs are corrupted as well as the administration ( the dean and vice dean are just horrible)..the housing facilites are outrageous: they gave a 2 day notice to the students to vacate their dorms and find a new place to live as the MMA decided to turn the crapy dorms into a hotel.
hope it can give you an insight about the MMA
see ya and best of luck
