    Medical school in Europe

    Advertisements

    Hi.

I was just wondering if their was a medical course somewhere in Europe (other than the UK and Northan Ireland) that taught you the entire medical course in english and you did not have to learn any foreign language.

    Thanks

Geez, have you looked around this site at all?

Click on "Schools" at the top of the page. Select "European Medical Schools." Aaaaaand Bob's yer uncle.

Yes Romania has a medical course where you graduate as a doctor and you can work In any place in Europe. This course is offered in English, French and Romanian. It also has very reasonable prices

For the record, the most respected E-EU medical schools internationally are probably Jagiellonian (Poland), Charles First Faculty (Czech Republic), Semmelweis (Hungary), and a few others. There are other good ones, but traditionally-speaking these have the longest track records and will make a better CV impact... and even then, you will still deal with East Bloc style headaches there. The further you stray from Central Europe, though, the more likely you are to develop a MFRU (medical faculty related ulcer), or MFRHL (medical faculty related hair loss). I suffered from the latter. Fortunately, my wife's affections are not contingent upon my hairline, or I would be pretty pissed.

Balkan-Region medical schools (Romania, Bulgaria) are one path to the goal, but they are far from the best option and should be reserved as absolute last resorts unless you have a specific and pretty damn pressing reason to be there. Yes, there are decent schools there. Cluj Napoca is supposed to be pretty good. But I urge potential students to take the rah-rah postings on VMD with a huge grain of salt and investigate all potential E-EU medical Schools extremely thoroughly (without the input of a recruiter or agent) before making a decision.
