    Any schools still accepting applications?

    Advertisements

    Hi,

I realize I'm probably just running on wishful thinking here, but does anyone happen to know whether any of the European medical schools are still accepting applications? I can't seem to find any that do so maybe not, but thought I'd ask!

If you are willing/able to fly to Sofia and hand-process your application, you might still be able to swing something there for this Fall. While the school does offer an EU diploma, I would recommend the Balkans only as a last resort, however.

Feel free to PM me if you would like a faculty point of contact for the first year cohort of students... although I do have to say, if the delay in response time for Poland was making you crazy, you might just have a freaking stroke dealing with the responsiveness of Bulgarians.

    Good luck!

You have a week or so still to interview with us if you like. Need a Bachelor's degree with 3.00 GPA and 24 MCAT.

    Hi tipton.
I have a 2.1 in my degree and have done the gamsat with an average of 51. What are my chances?

We require an overall GAMSAT score of 55 with no lower than 50 in any of the categories to consider an applicant for the interview process.

    Hey Tipton,

Thank you for the heads up but I don't meet the requirements.
I do have a months of experience volunteering as healthcare assistant, I have interned as research assistant in the neuroscience department at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, but I only graduated with a 2:2 in Biomedicine (Neuroscience) and my GAMSAT scores aren't sufficient (49; really messed up the last part).

I'm doomed. Won't stop me from trying though!

Thank you for this, I was contemplating it and I might get in touch over the next day or two, but if I don't, then I've probably just decided to wait until next year. I have the option of completing some subjects required for medicine in Sweden, and I just need to score very highly on this yearly national test for higher education that we have here to have a chance. It's still really tough, but it would be great.

Apart from obviously having done something I am genuinely interested in, moving to the UK and completing my degree there feels pretty rewardless at the moment (even if I know very well it isn't - definitely the best thing I've done in many ways) in terms of medical studies. Oh well, here's to never giving up!
