Which country are you studying in? It depends whether you're studying in an EU school or not. If you're studying in a non-EU school, then it's usually rare, except for perhaps countries like Romania.

Well then it should be possible to transfer to a Central or East European country (Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia.)

Note: I didn't include Poland and Hungary because they have very strict transfer rules and usually don't accept transfers.

Well I can only speak for Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia. A friend of mine transferred from Czech Republic to Romania (Oradea) and he didn't have any problem with transferring. I've heard of 2 other students who were able to transfer to the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Slovakia.

I'm not so sure if you can transfer to Czech Republic from another country but I do know a few students who were able to transfer between the faculties (like from the 1st fac. to Pilsen or to another university all together.)

Yeah, I was accepted at Zagreb, and I liked the place very much - although I didn't end up attending there. The head of the English program is a great guy, and I know that they take some transfer students from France who had trouble with the Concours. It could be worth contacting them, anyway.

I am surprised that European medical schools in Poland and Hungary have any preferences in regards to what is better and what is not...
from what I last heard, they are quite liberal with regards to their medical requirements and flexibility... People do not fail out of the schools due to the unlimited retakes... they leave of their own accords...

I don't know where you are getting your information, but Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic have some excellent (and very demanding) medical schools. Semmelweis, Charles, and Jagiellonian put out fine physicians who match into residencies in the States regularly. There are lesser schools there, just like almost anywhere, but people DO flunk out. Some of the most entertaining threads on VMD have been started by some random dude who failed out of Jag and started his own little personal vendetta against the place. Shrey, a frequent poster on this site, reports that his 3rd year class at Charles First Faculty has already lost over 50 students since the first year.
