I would say the odds of NRI acceptance into KMC's MBBS program are pretty slim considering supply and demand for seats.
I think Tipton is talking about NRIs getting into KMC on merit.

It's not that hard to get in as an NRI, but they require a "donation" (= suitcase full of cash). The total amount you pay is around 60-70,000 USD and that's your tuition for the six years. It works the same way at pretty much every Indian school that I've heard of.

Yea, Sree..i talked to Ms. Britto abt this and she told me tht they receive abt 700 application and accept abt 70 and the fees would be $135000 for the next 5 yrs....i noe its way too much but kmc being rated as #5 in india, they can ask for whatever they want other colleges in india charge abt $75000 but they are all government colleges and don't really prepare u for USMLE, so iam still weighing my options ....not 2 sure yet...wuts ur opinion on it?

I think 135k is a bit much for not getting access to US clinical rotations...If you want to practice in the US, you're better off going to AUA or KMCIC. It's around the same amount of money, and you can rotate here. There are several reasons for doing US clinicals including access to pre-matches that many of my classmates have been getting, good letters of recommendations, the ability to do away electives at American schools, and the ability to audition in the departments into which you plan to match.

The only advantage of going to KMC that I can think of is 50-state approval.

Hey Sree do you know how well KMCIC prepares students for the USMLE and do you know of students in the twinning program who are praciticing or doing clinical rotations?

I honestly don't know. I think it's too early to tell, but if I bump into any of them in Harbor this August, I'll find out.
