"higher education diploma grade" vs "grade average"

    Advertisements

Hi. While applying on-line for entrance to Jagiellonian while entering my previous education, I'm asked to give my "higher education diploma grade" as well as my "grade average". I assume grade average is simply my GPA from the school. But what do they mean by higher education diploma grade and how do I calculate it?

"Higher Education" in Europe and pretty much the rest of the world, means the education obtained after secondary education (High School). I suppose they are asking for your University GPA/letter grade equiv. The system is obviously different in Europe and many other countries whereas, the medical schools are often 6 years in length and folks are accepted after their High School equivalent in which they review performance on "A Level" coursework (The Germans and Danes refer to this as Gymnasium), I'm sure the Poles have a similar name. They probably get a lot of US applicants so they should understand your transcripts. Why do you want to go to Poland? Good Luck!

(Note they state 3.0 to 5.0 is passing so it should correspond with the USA 2.0 to 4.0 GPA?)
