American Looking to go to School Abroad

    Advertisements

I'm a junior in an American high school and I'm pretty interested in attending Jag. University. I'm looking for any useful information that some might have about the entrance exam, their experience there, and if is a good international school.

    Thanks,

Jagiellonian is a fine international program, especially by E-EU standards. However, the question is, where do you want to work after graduation? This is because the chances for foreign medical graduates are projected by the AAMC and ACGME to drop significantly after 2016, which is when you would be graduating. Read up on this before you plan to study medicine abroad, assuming you want to work in the US afterward.

I do graduate in 2015, so if I was to begin school in that fall, do you think that the 2016 drop would affect me?

Good heavens, absolutely... we are talking about graduation from medical school, not from high school.

It is after 2016 that the ACGME and AAMC project that there will be one graduating US medical student for every US internship position... leaving precious little for people who study medicine overseas. Even if it takes until 2018 for them to achieve that, which I think it likely, you would not graduate until 2021. Who knows how things will stand at that point? Read up on this, it is pretty important.
