    Jag Reps. in United States?

    Advertisements

    Hello,

I'm trying to find any reps for Jag. in USA. I've checked their website and through the forum and was unable to find any. Figured it would make sense to ask around. If they not have reps, is there somebody I could speak in English at some Intl. Student Office or something similar about admission process etc. I would appreciate any help. Cheers.

There are no "reps" in the US. There are previous graduates working as senior physicians in the US and Canada who help out with interviews and such but Jag doesn't need to advertise and this isn't that type of school. Faculty from the school fly over to the US and Canada for interviews.

Thanks, Dave! I believe I saw the list of graduates on their website, I will email them and ask for their help. It's awesome that the faculty flies over for interviews. Are you enrolled in the 4-year program or 6-year program? If you are enrolled in 4 year program, is it a requirement for the student to have an undergrad degree or do they also accept students who've finished at least 2 years of undergrad with all science courses and etc. I've finished all my science courses and I need to take another 2 years of courses to get an undergrad in Biochem and Molec. Genetics. I have a feeling that you would need to have an undergrad degree. I'd appreciate your input as well.

I am in the 4 yr program. You must have at least a Bachelors degree (except for Quebec residents and that whole CEGEP thing which I don't understand but the details of that are on the website) and have written the MCAT with a score above 24 to be considered for the 4 yr program.

Ah, thanks. I had a feeling that you would need to have at least a bachelors degree. Another question, I assume that you are on Direct Loan program how much of tuition and living expenses do the loans cover?

Actually I am Canadian and (quite fortunately) loan-free. However many US students take loans and my friend has informed me that the Direct Loan program gives you about USD 20K. On top of this, you can also apply for Grad Plus and there are some subsidized and unsubsidized options as well. I apologize but I have little first hand knowledge about any of this and have only learned what I know from my American friends and classmates.

Yay for being loan-free : o )...Nay for being not loan-free : o (....Oh well, 20 K isn't that bad...Would it be possible for you to get more information about Direct Loan Program from your American classmates. Or else, would they be alright if I inquire it personally via email? If not then it's not a big issue. I just like to get an idea of what to expect as far as loan process goes and etc. Thanks again, Dave. You've been really helpful!

I think your best bet is to email the lady at the school office who deals with loans and ask her all your questions directly. I will PM you with her email address.
