If you are considering the school, here are a couple of links...

It might be a good idea to plan a trip around one or more of the events so you can meet students in both, an informal setting, and during a more formal or academic setting. You could also ask one of the professors if you could sit in their class for a day. I'd definitely recommend sitting through an Anatomy lab...

Oh, and for US citizens...definitely get your Visa before coming here...it's a real pain to get a Temp Stay Card.

Glokta, so that you are considerate about others as well, would you like to consider to have a blog or something to give more idea about the school from the perspective of a student? There was such a Norwegian student in Semmelweis for instance, and his website, even after his graduation, helps a lot for all.. but there isnt something like that for Jag.. it would be good to get inside the classrooms, clinical rotations, tests, teachers, everything as much as possible with the eye of a real student.. think about it, huh?

I'm flattered, but that's just not me. I'm not much of a writer and I value my privacy.

Dave_MD, glogg, staradmiral, Rotten etc. have all been active and helpful members of this board. They will actually be best able to answer questions about rotations/tests/teachers etc. Check out the Jag Q/A thread.

If you're serious about this school as your best available option, spend a month...or two here. It will really give you much more than any forum or blog could. Also, it's just my opinion, but you're entering a different world here. Experience everything firsthand and spontaneously (more or less), rather than knowing everything beforehand. I'm just talking about your non-academic life (yes, you will have (more like need) one). Edit: As it turns out, Anatomy isn't all that hard here. BRS is ample. An atlas is nice, but not especially mandatory. You should have no trouble passing Anatomy. Histology is remarkably easy as well, especially the lab. There are some minutia asked on the theoretical exam, but the first one was pretty general overall, and if you have a decent background in cell bio or histo, you'll pass easily. We'll find out what happens with Physiology next week.

That said, guides for food/transportation/nightlife are essential.

Tickets for buses and trams are interchangeable. You get a student discount if you have any student ID. I had no trouble getting a discount ticket using my undergrad ID (we don't get our school IDs until october).

I don't agree with everything each one of these says...but...meh...

They're obviously designed for tourists. For more touristy stuff see Frommer's etc.
