The entrance exam for the 4 year program doesn't exist. Unless you call the MCAT or GAMSAT entrance exams. In which case, I can comment about the MCAT, its long, it stinks, it isn't pass fail, and you can take it 3 times or else u have to ask for permission to take it more.

Will I have to take the MCAT/GAMSAT?

I already have 1 undergrad degree and 2 post-grad degrees all in Neuroscience

Yes, you need a standardized medical admissions exam (MCAT or GAMSAT) for 4-year medical programs... they don't care how many degrees you have. With your academic credentials you may not need to blow the top off the thing, but you need to hold your own. I don't know how competitive they are on scoring at Jag.

bigndude is right about the Jag-specific exam... these types of exams are generally only for the 6-year programs.

There may be some 5-year post-grad programs in Ireland that do not require the MCAT or GAMSAT, but you would need to look into that.

oh thanks you guys..awesome posts so far

I guess i need to start revising for the GAMSAT then

I was hoping to start at Jag this September, but thats when the GAMSAT takes place here in London. SO I will have to wait until September 2011...Dammit!

I looked into the Irish schools advertised on this forum but they start at around $33k/annum.....thanks, but no thanks!

just as an FYI, there are schools in Poland that do not require an applicant to have written the GAMSAT/MCAT...Lodz comes to mind. So if your heart is set on Jag then best of luck to you but if it's just a 4 year MD program then you don't have to worry about the GAMSAT and apply to a school like Lodz.
