    Pre-Med @ A&M Commerce. Why Commerce

    Advertisements

Is there really any advantage of going all the way to Texas, to a ghost town middle of nowhere place called Commerce, when you can stay in your
home state and complete your pre-med credits and only pay $1,000? I have heard that some people at A&M Commerce that go there got acceptance letters without applying, and it is quite easy to get into. I was in the 6 year IAU program, paid the seat deposit, traveled all the way to Commerce, and I'm basically in the same classes I could be taking in my state. IAU reps barely came to ever visit Commerce to see IAU pre med students or have anything to do with it, and some of the people there were like:"What is IAU?" I got asked many times by students at commerce why I would travel all the way to go to such a university, and how I have even heard of such a place. Some of us aren't rich millionaires and the seat deposit was no small amount for the 6 year pre-med, which I can't get back unfortunately. Is there anyone that is in the 6 year that went to Commerce and found it worthwhile than staying back home and completing the credits? I haven't stepped foot into IAU, but by the rude behavior I am experiencing now I don't know, but I am not being negative about IAU in any way. I simply want to know others' experiences. Tanks

A&M Commerce is listed as one of bottom 25 universities in the US and in July of this year the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges issued a formal warning to the school regarding inadequate faculty. A&M Commerce is another overprice junket much like IAU itself. It is not surprising that the two have teamed up to separate you from your money. Relocating to do overpriced premeds at A&M Commerce is just as ridiculous as going to IAU for medical school.

Yes what you have said is true. The IAU reps are enjoying in their AC office in dallas while the IAU pre med students are in commerce, in the middle of nowhere, in nasty, filthy living conditions, and away from family and friends when they could have done credits back home and saved money. I came thinking it would be beneficial when what really happened was that I did not receive advising about IAU pre med classes like they stated, met many people have not even heard of IAU, and the reps did not come within the area of commerce until they really had to mid semester. I was just tricked and lied to. The IAU reps are enjoying life with my seat deposit and to them it is a small amount because that is how much they are making. I am glad I am out of commerce and have not step foot into IAU.
