    Histology

I have never seen histology instructors teach microbiology or vice versa. How is the microbiology instructor qualified to teach microscopic anatomy unless he is a trained pathologist. I doubt that's the case.

Why isn't the pharmacology teacher not able to also teach physiology. All trained pharmacologists are also well trained in physiology. Some Caribbean schools hire organic chemists to teach pharmacology. Organic chemists are not really qualified to teach pharmacology.

    Active Instructors

By using the names of the instructors who are no longer on the island, the school is trying to create a false impression in terms of the actual number of active instructors it really has. Of course the competence of some these people is something entirely different and we don't need to get into that. It's been discussed here before.

This is just another way that the school deceives the unsuspecting students and their naive parents.

    this doesn't make sense.
I thought Neuroscience is require for med students to take USLME and apply for residency.
As for faculty qualification, i think it's best to have an IAU student come in here to give their thoughts.

I had a professor who taught human anatomy and histology at the same time.
Also a professor who is a PHD in ecology came in and taught human anatomy and physiology.

That makes sense! You probably don't know what getting a good education is really like. And this also explains why you think IAU is a good school. If you learned anatomy and physiology from an ecologist, IAU is exactly where you should be.

Hahha you misunderstood. I am not a student from IAU, the professors I describe are from a university I went to in california. After graduating with a ** in Bio, I enrolled in another University in the east coast to study medical science and health.

Crane: I'm not rooting for IAU or any carib school just yet. I'm like all the premeds doing research here. Gotta have a back up plan if i don't get into the states.
Hmm now you know alittle bit about my academic background, I'm curious about yours crane. Are you a med student from IAU? If you are, then I guess I would take you seriously. I can't say my research and infos are credible either becuz I'm not a med student in the caribs. I'm just using this forum to share what I know through my research and to read what others know. I look through your post and I can see you have negative opinions about all the caribbean schools. Well here is one thing that you should consider, get your *** accepted to a US med school, so you don't have to go through crap. If you can't get yourself in a US medical school, then either go to a caribbeann school and shut up, or quit your medical career and do something else, it's that freaken simple. Be useful and share rational, logical, and neutral information instead of insulting other people around the forum.

btw: Here is a rational, logical, and neutral way of giving info

Pros about IAU: Recommended for NY approval, can practice in 49 states (if you get license from a state that approves IAU, then you can apply for licensing in states that follows the cali list, hence case by case), affordable tuition, not in any disapprove list, small classroom size

cons about IAU: They are still very new, so the future is unknow. Therefore they don't have any practicing physicians. There were issues in the lack of help after the hurricane disaster. There were problems with faculty qualifications. They don't have a campus, instead class was taught in a rented building. You can't practice in Cali, unless it's a VA hospital there, and they do not have the OFFICIAl NY approval yet.

With this info, you allow readers to choose their own fate

then again, I don't think Crane wants that hahahha, cuz all I been reading from your post is.
IAU is a lie, don't go there--> wow where is the fun in that

If you guys have concerns about faculty qualifications and other stuff, I would suggest going to the IAU website and do a live chat with the admissions committee. They will answer all your questions and concerns. After that, come back to this forum and read other people's perspectives, that way you get more insight about what's going on.

~ I don't think just blindly listening to Crane or me would do anyone any good, cuz this is your future, you should do what is best for you .
