I am looking into transferring into IAU as well. Since you already got in and are starting in Med 2..would u mind sharing a few general stats about yourself..that helped u to get in such as which school u transferred from, your gpa, if u were able to get credit for 1st termcourses and if so..what grades u orginally had in them? Any info that may help me assess if I would be a good candidate while applying to IAU would be helpful. Thanks in advance!! and Gluck starting med 2

hey...I transferred out from american university of antigua because that university was wayy over my budget..it was 15,000 a semester and that is way over my budget. I have completed my first semester at AUA and had taken and completed anatomy, embyrology, histology and doctor patient and society. Yes, they did accept all the credits from AUA. Just as long as you passed all your courses they will accept the credits. The school is very small, it is one floor of a building, the classes are very smalll. There are about 30 students in my class. I do not believe that there is GPA requirement for transfer students from a caribbean school. Whatever classes that you had passed in a caribbean medical school I am pretty sure it will be taken. Also, on the website, there are people you can call and you can ask them all the questions you need and they will be glad to assist you Gooood luck!

thanks! your response was very helpful. After speaking at an admissions counselor, I was told that asa transfer student..getting credit for courses in which I received a C would be tough..but I guess everything is on an individual basis. Thanks again and gluck with your new class and island

Transfer credits are awarded on a case by case basis. So its really hard to generalize and say whether the end result be the same.

Transfer applicants will need to submit course objectives and syllabus for each basic science course to verify compatability to our curriculum. The admissions committee will go over the documents and then determine advanced placement.
