Hey triplej... I am starting in May. I got the orientation packet from the school that tells us all the "must bring" stuff. But is there anything else that you could advise ? Also is it hard to find housing ? Thanks in advance...

Hey tripleJ , I'm one of your classmate.

To answer the question, I will say, don't bring everything on the list, give me your email address I will send you a list of what to bring, and we have I few apart. which are going to be available for May, they are about $300-500 U.S and they are very nice.

    things to bring

    Hi Logo,
    Nice to hear from you.

make sure you buy a clip board, a stethoscope( not a cheap one!). Lippman sthescope are really good. the cheap ones start falling apart after a couple use. You will want to keep in touch with your family when you get here. I would suggest buying a "Magic Jack". It is a device that allows you to talk over the internet when you are here on the island. You can get that at a Best Buy or any other electronic store. You should definately bring a good umbrella because it rains here almost every day. some students make the mistake of bringing only casual wear. You will have to dress professionally when you start attending clinics, so pack a decent pair of shoes and some formal clothes.
I would suggest that you buy your book from Amazon or some other company. It is very expensive buying it from the school website.
It is not hard to get housing here. Some of the apartments are breathtaking and pretty decent in terms of price.
I will be posting a list of things to bring ,soon. Hope this helps!

I'd say that $300-500 for an apartment is slightly on the high side. You can find really nice apartments anywhere between $200 -$300

Dr. thunder that's including everything (cable, internet, phone, electricity sometimes water), and a water pump. Some of the cheaper places don't have a water pumps, well to me the nicer places are around 300-500 U.S from what know, let me know where the prices are cheaper please. thank you

I agree. I was talking about "just rent". Yeh for $500 all utilities and internet are covered as well.
