    IAU is full of lies

    Advertisements

Everytime someone comes onto this forum and tries to say anything bad about IAU random people with random screenames start harassing them and telling them that they are wrong. The people that say bad stuff are the people who have actually been to that school and experienced the unorganized, inappropriate atmosphere, here a few examples (anyone whether they like the school or not, will agree with me on this) :

    1. During the semesters that I attended IAU there were several occasions EVERY WEEK where the students would find themselves bumping heads in the hall, not knowing where our professors were or if we even had class.

    2. We didn't have a cadaver for anatomy lab until we only had 1 month before the NBME's to study with it.

    3. The school is the TOP FLOOR of a commercial building.

    4. The professors love to go out and get drunk/party with students.

These are just a few of the very MANY examples of how "professional" IAU is.

    The TRUTH

Okay, this time I didn’t even have to contemplate. I am getting extremely fed up with your attacks on a upstanding school in which your failing out of was of no fault but your own. I am going to say this again so it is even clearer: Criticisms about IAU or any other school is entirely fine. I myself have minor criticisms, but what school is perfect? However, what I do not think should be condoned is false accusations about a school in order to deter students from going there because you have failed out. I am a student at IAU, along with many others, who are pleased with the professors, facilities, the program and school in general. The mere fact that you claim “random people” with “random screen names” are harassing anyone saying “anything bad” about the school is a lie. I am not random, nor is my screen name and my comments are anything but harassing. Now here I find myself again cleaning up your mess of inaccuracy:

    1. This one made me laugh because it is heinously made up and you made it sound like students walk around aimlessly bumping heads like pigs in a trough. IAU runs on a set schedule like any other school. The professors are notorious for ALWAYS being on time and in class, especially compared to other Caribbean schools.
    2. The idea of this one is bordering truth, but your exaggeration astounds me. Due to reasons out of the schools hands, we didn’t have a cadaver for anatomy almost a month into the semester. In no way did we not have one until a month before NBME’s. That is just outrageous.
    3. Your right, the school is the top floor of a commercial building. There is ONE clothing store below, on a completely separate section of the building. So what? It’s one of the nicest buildings in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. What is your point here? It is still very large and the classrooms, lab rooms, study rooms, computer rooms etc. are all still completely beyond suitable, and not to mention with air conditioning too. In fact, I think the school is in a great location as there is a grocery store, KFC, and other places to eat just around the corner.
    4. This is a flat out lie, and I even considered looking into taking further action beyond this rebuttal as this can be considered quite slanderous towards the professors’ characters. What hurts me, and the school itself, to see this lie is the fact that the professors go out of their way to be kind and helpful to each student. In fact, the dean of students speaks to each individual student and organizes events to bring the scholastic community at IAU together. These events in the past have been basketball related, or a non-alcohol related gathering at the beach. How you tried to misconstrue these events into partying is upsetting. I do understand that you were at the bar a lot, and maybe your constant intoxication confabulated your memory. It was rare for students or professors to even have the free time like you did to go “party.”
I hope this is the last of this nonsense; I apologize on behalf of IAU for the fact that IAU even let “mpIAU” in, only to see them fail out and spew lies due to their own unhappiness. If anyone wants or needs further proof of what is really going on, contact me directly and I can help or direct you to someone who can.

I will reiterate my previous postings statements again: Always contact ACTUAL students who have graduated or are currently enrolled in the school to get accurate information, do not rely on the inaccurate information of disgruntled people who failed out.

I do not work for the admin. In fact, I know who you are personally and have quite an extensive list of personal things I could say about you (mainly things that would further bruise your reputation) and would give away the fact that I am a student at IAU. However, for the sake of confidentiality and common decency on your behalf I will not, unless you want me to in order to prove I am not admin? Just say the word.

mpIAU listen boo, you need to get a life ok, you don't like IAU fine, go to another school that you like leave IAU alone. I see on here all the time say IAU this and that, I want to know what you were doing to make a difference, I bet nothing. I'm a new student going to IAU in the spring of 2009, the administration have been so nice to me, they gave me all the info I need to know, I did my research, its a Caribbean school first of all, it will have those problem but they are trying to fix them. I guess you were so overwhelm you got accepted, you didn't your research, so go play on a highway and get a grip on life. Try praying for the school and the administration. Be a man

Actually mpIAU is a woman. Infact the only student of IAU who has ever been arrested by the "ever friendly" St.Lucian Police. Her character does come into question here, because if your character is questionable then the opinions that you post here becomes questionable too. She transfered out after failing miserably and then she turns around to say that IAU is full of lies and it was all IAU's fault. I am sure readers can see the fallacy in her statements.

Guys I had worked at IAU for nearly 4 years, though I am not there any more, but nobody knows IAU better than me. To blame a school is the easiest thing to do, but to accept the reality is tough. Things do happen slowly at IAU, but they do happen and are normally towards the POSITIVE side. Forget about others, but the CEO & COO of this school has a very soft/good attitude towards the students, but we do have to remember that some times they are also bound by monetary restrains and also remember things do not work always as you have planned. Regarding teaching at IAU, it has always been good, and comparable to the best MED Schools. It’s true it’s on the 3rd floor, but is it a problem? More than 30000 sq feet of area! And compare it with the student population. I have seen ins and outs of IAU, at least they are trying to do something good, so credit should be given where it is due. And one more thing I am not related to them and neither I am on their payroll! What ever I will be saying may be positive or negative will be based on my judgment with no bias. And one more thing even I want to know which faculties party with students, as this is a news to me also.

Well, ok.... that has me decided that my baby doesn't need to go there. Actually, the replies from "supporters" of IAU were the most informative. They gave me a great deal of insight. I know this has been said before, but I think you protest too much. You give yourselves away.
