    Louisana hospital update

    Advertisements

So, "rumor" has it that IAU has officially signed a contract with Touro hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisana; however, i am finding it a bit hard to believe as the IAU website shows nothing about this on there website and if you google Touro Hospital, it ends up being in New Orleans under the name of Tuoro Infirmary. wouldn't something, of this calibre be undertaken by the school to be addressed formally, especially with many students thinking of attending/forgetting about going to the island to begin there tenure with IAU? !?!?! Another 'iffy' situation, which appears to have little merit,if any, behind it....

i think for you to make comments without knowing all the right information makes whatever you say invalid, Touro is in New Orleans, and the Baton Rouge hospital is a completely different one, and FYI it has been addressed formally.

    Louisana

The Baton Rouge hospital is different, on IAU's website, and is green in IM only.

The New Orleans Touro hospital/clinic/infirmary or whatever is different and new on IAU's website. It pulls up greenbook through "Louisiana State University program" in IM, Peds, Ob/gyn, for cores and Cardio Dx, Neuro, Peds Neuro, Infectious Dx, PM & R, Vasc Surg, and Rheuma for electives

This same site has a core greenbook for surgery through Tulane, and has green electives in oto and plastic surg.

I do not see a family practice site at all in New Orleans and neither universities have greenbook affiliations with Touro for peds...

So the best case scenario is do 4 cores in Lousiana, Family Practice at JPH in chicago, and wait with an umbrella for pysch somewhere?

    To search for greenbooks:
ACGME Accredited Program and Institutional Listing - Public Access, then click "accredited programs" on left, highlight Louisiana and "All Specialties" which is the last option.

    Response from the Admin

It is important for readers to remember that he is NOT a student at IAU and he has NEVER worked for the University either. While we cannot speak to his possible motives, the information posted is misleading and factually untrue. Without being involved in the admissions process, it is not possible for iaustudent 06 to speak with any level of creditability. We question why he spends this much time and energy posting negative comments when he not involved with our organization. We sincerely hope he moves on and focuses on more important aspect in his life.

If readers have questions about our Clinical Program or our admissions process, I strongly encourage you to message me directly or to call the Dallas office and speak to an Admissions counselor. 972-484-9700. We are more than happy to give you factual and updated information.

    Thanks,
    IAU Admin

Who is the IAU official referring to as "he" ? As a School official I think you should watch for correct usage of words, spelling and grammar. Further more its the same message posted on another thread. Are you saying that you are too lazy to even have an original opinion ????!!!!

Whomever that "he" may be.... This is a public forum. You dont need to be a student or an employee to be able to voice opinions on value md. Anyone can say anything about anybody.

Readers should do their own research to get to the right answers !
