    What to bring...

If you're going to be bringing a laptop - and its strongly suggested that you bring one - bring an adapter for the power sources. They aren't the normal ones (they are British I believe) and bringing a few converters is always a good idea. Any and all electronics you bring will be taxed on arrival at the airport (customs), so bring only what you absolutely need. In terms of getting electronics on the island - they are very expensive and rarely found, so bring what you need.
Food and other basic supplies can be purchased at local grocery stores. They are "American" in nature and carry all the basic supplies of home grocery stores. They carry mostly American products and other brands, selection isn't the best, but you can get by with whats down here. If there is something that you absolutely require (a specific brand of something), I suggest bringing it and then seeing if they sell it down here. Or just ask someone - that always works as well.
I hope that helps, was there anything more specific?

    Some other things to consider

Some other items to consider are bringing extra school supplies, depending on the best manner in which you learn-that being, if you take a lot of notes, bring a few extra notebooks, pens. Although the availability of most items, including school supplies-hygiene items-food, are commonly available, you will probably be looking for the same products that you are accustomed to in the U.S.-thus my suggestion is to pack more than less. Bring all the food you can, as some of the items you like, may not be sold here; nevertheless, the grocery stores here, stock almost everything that you'll need. Bring a few extra clothes, as it is hot here and you may not like having your laundry done all the time!

Take heed in bringing your electronics here-there are ways to bring in your electronics (and avoid taxation ) and should you need extra advice, don't hesitate to contact some of the students directly-either via valuemd, or preferably, have the Dallas office send us your contact number and one of the students here-on-island- will be glad to call you up and render any help that you may need.

    Good luck!!!
