    hi guys,
    i m new to this place....i gave my step 1 and got a poor score...80...m an FMG...cud u please tell me if there is any reason for me to pursue my dream of residency in the US?i mean what are my chances of getting a good residency... i wish to do PSy/int.med...dono if i shud go ahead with step2
    pls advice...i m in a terrible fix

    A score of 80 on step 1 is not bad as long as it is not your 5th time taking it. Yes, if you dare to dream it, you can do it!

    well hunk! i think getting a residency in the us is not only about step1 although your score really cud make a difference i mean that you've done the step1 nightmare you shud stop thinking about things that u cant change right? now focus on step2 and try to improve ur cv as much as possible like LOR and research programs & if you have good relations with residents like friends or relatives that would help too & try to spend much more time in good usmle forums sush as this one good luck!
