    Q) 45 y/o guy who was 5' 5'' tall and weighed 280 pounds and is on HTZ for HTN and Metformin for DM and HbA1c is 6%....and BP is well controlled and 130/80....so in this patient what is the risk for Cardio vascular disease?


    is it obesity or DM.

    clearly it's DM because he's already diagnosed and being heavy doesn't always by itself suggest he's obese and dangerous for cvs dx, maybe he's got heavy bones and huge muscles; maybe he just recently gained that weight (hypothyroidism)
