    H1B sponsoring hospitals

    Advertisements

Does anyone have a list of hospitals that are willing to sponsor

    doctors? (H1b only, not J-1)

I found a list on network54 and I thought I bookmarked it, but now I cant

    find the bookmark.

    Thank You

It depends on the hospital. The type of visas sponsored are listed next to the each hospital on the IMG Friendly hospital list. But keep in mind that this list might be outdated and, therefore, used only as a guide. It's recommended that you contact the hospitals to verify the information.

    so then...

This may be a stupid question but... So then as Canadians who need/want an H1B visa is there any point in listing schools who don't sponsor for this visa on your match sheet?

Then the entire number of schools/programs 'open' to us is really limited. True? (American's, USIMG's, IMG's on J1's then IMG's on H1B's)

Last question. Is it possible to get an H1B visa or green card before entering the match to enlarge the pool of possibilities? I qualify for the TN-1 'educated' workers visa as well with my other degrees.

I'm a true blue Canadian. I'd settle for the name of a law firm that deals in this (cheap one please!)

    thx. s-

As a Canadian, I have the same questions as the previous poster.

Also, is this a comprehensive list, or are these just the hospitals that have made it known they are IMG friendly? Would it be worth my time to contact other individual hospitals to find out if they sponsor H1 visas?

Also, as for the hospitals listed without a classification, (H1 or J1), do they sponsor both, or is it just unknown? Thanks.

No, there is no point. If you did get an interview with them, it would be useless to rank them, because you can't get a visa to work!!!! (unless of course they sponsor J-1's.)

YES!!!! We must be PROUD canadians!!

No, a hospital must sponsor the H1B for you and you can only do this if you Pre-match or match.

Being Canadian (and Mexican) qualifies you for a TN. It cannot be used for residency. This path has been thoroughly explored by many. Sorry.

There are many lists available including one on valuemd. Your best bet, would be to narrow down the states/programs which you would want to work in and then contact the program. In my case, pathology, there are only < 150 programs so I sent emails/called the rest who didn't reply. Each year, their policy changes. So it's best to contact them yourself!

Also, as for the hospitals listed without a classification, (H1 or J1), do they sponsor both, or is it just unknown? Thanks.
It's basically hit and miss. One, both, or NONE.

Thanks for the info. I won't be applying for the match for another year and a half or so, but it gives me time to research which hospitals are H1B friendly.
