    ...

whered you hear that? ive never heard that...
obviously once you're done training and ur visa expires you have to return home..
but there is no obligated return to home country for ex 2 yrs like on a j1..

if you get a greencard during residency then of course you can stay in the US and continue working once you are finished with residency... or if no GC then at least you would need to find an employer that will sponsor you for an H1 after ur done with residency..

well itll depend on ur speciality and location where u want to practice...
i havent been avidly lookiing for positions but every now and then ill see some posted that will sponsor h1s for specialities like IM just outside major cities or in rural areas...

ur question is a good one.. maybe someone else here has more info for u in terms of specific stats... i havent researched it much because thus far its all been about gettin an h1 in the first place.. if i come cross more info ill post it here...

    is greencard a guarantee

if one is a canadian citizen doing their residency in the U.S. on an H1B visa, and applies for a greencard, isn't it pretty much guaranteed?? if so, then why wouldn't one want to apply for it?

i really dont know exact details personally...
one of the options includes getting a greencard based on a national interest waiver

http://www.mdgreencard.com/national_interest.html#7 has some info on it.. and can google search it further

    My plan

I don't plan on finding an employer to sponsor my H1-B visa after residency. I'm *hoping* that during my residency i marry and american and say goodbye to all the visa headaches! I think you all should too!!!!
