Get your own lawyer for H-1b?

    Advertisements

For those of you that are already in residency on an h-1b, did you retain your own lawyer for visa processing or did you just go through the hospital..

If you did have your own lawyer, anyone with any recommendations?
Please PM me with contact details.

    Thanks

    lawyer

    hey!

I think it will be faster if you get a lawyer. I have a friend who is trying to get the H1 but she is going solely through the hospital. It seems to be taking forever. She doensn't want to pay a laywer (lack of funds) so I'm sure that is why it is taking forever. But then, she told me that you need to have a State licence before the hospital can apply for the H1.

I think a lawyer is advisable to hasten the process.

well i know u can pay the premium processing fee ..
but u can pay that to the hospital lawyer too..
im just wondering what purpose having ur own lawyer will serve if the hospitals gonna use their lawyer to submit paperwork...

    h1

The majority of people I think used the hospital lawyer. And yes, u have to get your state license first before your H1 can be processed.

    not quite...

You need to obtain the state license only in states where they require you to do so and where you are eligible for it. For example in Delaware IMGs must have completed 3 years of accredited GME before they can apply for license.
