Do majority of the residencies in US provide J1 visa?

    Advertisements

    Hello,

I am canadian and hoping to go to the Caribbean for medical school- hoping for SGU. I am also hoping to do my residency for family medicine in the US. I have some visa issues, I am hearing different stories everywhere. So I have heard that getting a H1B visa is nearly impossible and majority of the residencies do not offer that. So I was wondering if anyone know about any stats on how many residencies in the USA do J1 visas?

Being a Canadian I have the added hardship of dealing with visa issues when applying for residency. So, I understand that I have to apply to as many places as I can in order to secure a spot. So does anyone know what percentage of the residencies in primary care do J1 visas?
