    Cheers

you are in the perfect situation . since you have graduated, you have a shot of getting into residency when you pass USMLE step 1, step 2 ck and step 2 cs. after passing these three exams, you will be certified by ecfmg (ecfmg.org). then you have to compete for residency spot of your choice with NRMP. To really understand this long process, you have to read FIRST AID USMLE STEP 1. Its pretty informative about what u need to do. good luck

Congratulations on your visa! Yes, you will need to complete the exams alfidor mentioned, and then you can apply for the Match. You will need to present all of your medical credentials to the ECFMG (Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates), and they will tell you what you need to submit.

    Good luck to you.

    Re

Immigrant visas (aka Green cards) grant the holder the right to reside and work in the US permanently. Holders of these visas are referred to as lawful permanent residents. They are obtained either in the US or abroad at a US Embassy or Consulate. Green cards are available mostly to those individuals who have immediate family members in the US or job skills needed by a US employer. Additionally, a number of green cards each year are granted to investors, refugees, highly educated individuals and DV Lottery winners. The number of green cards issued each year is subject to an annual quota on each category. The speed with which one obtains a green card depends upon the category in which one qualifies.

No they aren't, they can't vote and also they can lose the green card and be sent back to their home country
