Action plan for Statment of need for J1 visa

I'm an Ontario resident who will be starting an IM residency in July in the US. I plan to get a J1 visa and for that I need a statement of need which requires an action plan.

From what I have found out on the internet, I need to provide a step by step game plan of how I will complete the requirements to becoming a fully licenced IM doctor in Canada, that includes approximate exam dates.

I have taken and passed Steps 1 and 2, and the MCCEE. I plan to take Step 3 after my first year of residency. I have no idea what date I will take the exam...should I have an idea? What other exams are needed?

What exactly are all the necessary requirements that should be included in an action plan? Maybe if I could have a glance at some sample action plans it would make it all clear to me. Right now I am very confused although I am sure that in reality it is not as complicated as I think it is.

I've been getting most of my info from the Health Canada and the CPSO websites.

Help me out if you can, I'd appreciate it.

Ya, I need a J-1 as well and I am pretty confused. The main problem I am having is who do we actually contact in order to get this statement of need?

If you are from Ontario use pathway 4.
Policies | Policies & Publications | College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

Most other provinces you will have to state that you will take MCCQE1 and MCCQE2 and the RCPSC certification exam - all during residency I believe.

Oh ya, at this point do not mention anything about applying for waivers or fellowships or chief resident yrs. (Unless you are NOT from Ontario and trying to make your residency duration equivalent to a Canadian one by trying to do a chief yr or fellowship yr.) These all require separate applications and additional statement of need applications in the future if need be. Remember that this is a visa (J1) where your intention is to ultimately come back to Canada. So just keep it that way for now. In the future if you want a waiver you deal with it then.
