returning to the US with as an Indian citizen

    Advertisements

    hey guys,
I have been reading up a lot on these forum for the past 2 days. very very informative. but here is the thing im confused about and would love for some feed back.

I am an Indian citizen studying in Viginia (US) getting a double degree in engineering. I am getting a bachelors in both Electrical and Mechanical engineering. Ive had this sudden urge to become an MD in the last year. I havent completed my premed classes ( physics, chem, Ochem and bio) because both my physics and chemistry were offered by the engineering dept as a one semester course compared to a one year course. I have also taken biology II but not bio I . because of other reasons i couldnít take my MCATs this year. That is why i looked towards other schools in Europe etc so that I donít have to wait for more time before I start studying.

Most of the threads i read dealt with Canadian or UK citizens. But as an Indian citizen( with out a green card), what do I have to do to start residency in the US? is the 5th pathway still applicable to me ?

    any information will be helpful

    Raghav

    hey ...
I am completing my degree in 3 months. i just feel it would be easier if i started my MD now compared to starting it 3 or even 2 years down ...

secondly having a ** would mean it would take 5 years for my green card.

I dont know if im wrong about this.. but would I be able to get into the EU schools w/o taking the MCATs. a bigger worry is if i would be able to get back in after that.
