perhaps a PA on campus? IM sure a nice SO will post a direct link but I have the SO group links at http://travel.to/sgusom
My wife is a nurse here in the states.
Question 1: is there any jobs down there that she might be able to find that is something similar to a nurse??
Question 2: if so, is there any additional training/degree she might need to do it?
thanks a lot all!

If you get a warning, put on yer manpants and stop whining about it.
Unfortunately, the last I heard, hiring SO's for these types of positions has been stopped. But you might be able to find out for sure by asking a current SO in Grenada to find out for you.
Go to the "Contact SO" page on the SO website:

If you have questions about SO's in clinical rotations or need advice during clinical years, please go to the Clinical SO website at:

They DO use nurses, EMTs etc. as "physician extenders." Basically they are on call whenever the clinic is closed and respond to any on-campus medical problem. They drive a small van equipped with a gurney and have radio comunication with security as well as a cell phone to call the doctor on call if needed. They will transport you to the hospital if needed too. Apparently they can be quite busy on the weekends. It might be a paid position, but i don't know. The emergency medicine club also uses nurses/EMTs to teach phlebotomy and IVs. SOs also work in the bookstore/postoffice and i know of one SO who works for DES.
