    Class size?

    Advertisements

Approximately how big is the class size? I saw on the CMU website that the facilities planned are able to handle very large classes.

I know it's a risk going with something new, but I'm still very interested and like the idea of being one of the very first.

Currently the class size is quite small due to the fact that this is our first semester; however our facilities allow us to handle lectures and seminars for up to 300 students per room. Based on ACCM requirements our class size for medical program should not exceed 60 students.

Be very very careful if you're seriously considering CMU! You should have applied and been rejected from AUC, SGU, Ross, SMU, St. Eustacius, and probably some others before even thinking about CMU. CMU should absolutely be your LAST choice!

There may be something to be said for being one of the first, but it's useless to be one of the first if you won't be able to practice. As it stands right now, CMU students cannot take the USMLE and will not be able to practice in the US. This may change eventually, but are you really willing to take that chance?

This has changed already, since last Wednesday Curacao Government finally clarified the situation with exclusive right /monopoly on the island/ of St. Martinus, which delayed our permit, therefore our students will be able to take USMLE, practice and become qualified physicians.

you CANNOT make this statement with any truth behind it until you have FAIMER/IMED listing!!! And as far as i have been able to discern, CMU is not IMED listed. Is all and well good that you are int he process of obtaining it, but it is deceptive and most likely fraudulent for you, as a school officlal, to make this statement without the IMED listing, PERIOD.

That's fine and all, but I think most users here have a problem with the way you proclaim you already have it on your webpage, the webpage being one of the primary advertisement tools for Caribbean medical schools.

Perhaps it was just another oversight by your webpage design teams, but say there was another hiccup in receiving your WHO/IMED/etc recognition, and more students joined with the idea that you already had them at the time of their admission. Couldn't that also lead into unwanted legal troubles?

this is true and it's very hard to disclaim when someone says your website is fraudulent when it states you have these listings.

    From your website:

    Recognitions
WHO, IMED, ECFMG, USMLE, MCC and the Ministry of Education of the Netherlands Antilles
Did you recently receive IMED and WHO that I didn't hear about?

Of course they didn't! And what I wrote orignially still stands. They can't take the USMLE and they can't get licensed in the US. It might change eventually, but right now, they are just being fraudulent.
