    Need Money Bad

    Alright.

There is a lot of gossip going around re: loans - Teri Corp. (our school is not accredited by them), Bank of Montreal, Royal, CIBC etc.

We are 2 Canadians with solid credit rating. We do not want to ask our retired parents to co-sign for a loan.

We study outside Canada and have 3 years to go.

We have a lab job that pays minimally but we could demonstrate the ability to pay interest.

We are running out of time.

Can you please advise specifically about who is loaning you money. i.e. I deal with Joan Smith at Bank of Montreal (Young and Bloor Branch) in Toronto. She gave me a line of credit for $100,000 no co-signer.

We would be happy to consider private loans, but don't have a clue where to find these people.

If you can offer ANY type of information, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks kindly. S-

have you tried OSAP? They would at least be able to give you $8000 interest free until you graduate. I believe they are now joined with Canada Student Loans. The other thing to look into is CanHELP. I have no idea who its with but I see it's mentioned a lot.

    OSAP & Can'tHELP

    Hi.

Thanks for the thoughts but OSAP does not give money to students outside Canada. Other provinces do. BC & Nova Scotia give provincial loans in addtition to the federal aid. It appears as if OSAP does it because the links and application form for Canada student loans is actually funnelled through the OSAP web-site and you fill out 1 application for both Canada & Ontario student loan.

We receive the maximum available. We get $8,000 CDN from Canada student loan & another $2,500 Canada study grant. This combines to pay our tuition only when translated into US dollars.

We are looking for about $1,500 USD per month for 3 years. That's it. S-

    Canhelp problems?

I was just wondering what your problems were with CanHelp, they did not approve you for a loan?

    re: I believe......

The problem with CanHelp (more like canthelp!)
was that the school peacefuljourney attends is not accredited to use CanHelp yet. (if the school is not approved, then no loan.....)

    Cheers,
