better in what? better 4 me or 4 u? every school has good and bad things so "better" can mean 2 diff things to 2 diff ppl. but in this case i think the 2 schools have lots of similarities and r both good schools to get u an m.d. in the u.s.

both spartan and saba have small classes of about 40 per sem (this is seen as a real plus for most). both r cheap compared to other schools, but in this category spartan is better b/c it ends up to be almost 1/2 the cost of saba. neither is approved by the calif med board but saba is approved to do unlimited clinicals in n.y. while spartan is restricted to 12 weeks in that state. both schools have similar approvals in most other states but the slight edge goes to saba in this category. both have been around a while and r well-established, but again spartan has a slight edge in this category b/c it has been around for 23 yrs. vs 17 for saba. both offer loans, but only spartan offers federal stafford loans (will be back in effect next year). although spartan is located on a more tourist-oriented island and offers nicer resorts and restaurants, saba is rumored to be one of the safest islands around. but theyre both still located in 3rd world countries so u will need to sacrifice some luxuries that u might be used to in either case. i think the small class size provides a friendly environments and personal attention at both schools. saba has the benefit of being associated with its 2 sister schools (mua nevis and belize).

i think ur question is invalid coz it is very subjective depending on who u ask. my advice is to look for facts from each school individually and try to figure out whats most important for you. but either way at the end both r great schools that will get u where u need to go. good luck.

It's all about personal priorities and preferences, there's is no one school that appeals to everyone. If you're looking for accurate answers to all your questions summarized neatly just for you, it's time to burst the bubble. Do your own homework.

I would suggest you first carefully digest all information available on school websites:

Spartan Health Science University School of Medicine
    http://www.spartanmed.org/

    Saba University School of Medicine
    http://www.saba.edu

You will find that the websites provide most obvious information a prospect would frequently inquire about. You can request online or download school catalogs from the websites, that will offer more compact information.

Several schools have their Student Handbook available to download, which will include majority of, if not all necessary details.

Spartan Health Science University School of Medicine
    http://www.spartanmed.org/html/38881.pdf

    Saba University School of Medicine
    http://www.saba.edu/forms/handbook.pdf

Once you have reviewed everything accessible online, you would be more than able to formulate a list of pros and cons of your own, for each school of your interest, according to your own standards and guidelines. The choices will seem a lot more obvious to you then.

After this, you can address any specific questions or particular concerns to the school officials via phone or email:

Spartan Health Science University School of Medicine
    Telephone: 1-758-454-6128
    [email protected]

    Saba University School of Medicine
    Telephone: 1-800-825-7754
    [email protected]

I've had experiences with administrations at both schools, and they're quite helpful on phone. Saba is relatively fast and resourceful with email inquiries, but your chances of getting a straight answer from Spartan over email is next to none.

Visiting the schools yourself is always something to consider. I've heard of several students that did, and they all had positive remarks about their experiences.

Then you may want to verify the information you gathered with corresponding boards, councils, and organizations. It would also be a good idea to consult current students and graduates. The moderators and regular posters on the Saba forum here offer valuable insights and advises that help the new prospects tremondously. The network here for Spartan on the otherhand, is unfortunately quite limited and more biased than objective at the moment, but we hope to improve this soon.

It's always welcomed to seek unanswered specifics. But please first exhaust all reliable sources I mentioned above.

No one can answer which of the two schools is better except yourself.

    Good luck with your research!

    Smiles,
    Kirsten

    Saba Vs spartan

I just wanted to hear peoples opinions about each school, and not get attacked for asking a question.
I did my research on each school a long time ago, I just wanted to see what others think about them.

    Oop~

I'm sorry that you felt attacked- If you have done your research on both schools, I'm sure you'll make the right decision. Good luck!

PS. I believe beaker's post illustrates both schools pretty accurately.

LOL. Good "answer." That seems to be the theme lately with the incoming class(myself included) => get your own bloody answer!

(If I say good luck enough times, will they go away????)
Finally beat Super Mario Bros within 7 mins.

Sometimes in life we have to be honest with ourselves in what it is in our best interest, even though it goes against our "want's" or egos.

    The obvious answer is Saba

k' Pinki.... the answer to your question is VERY easy... GO TO SABA!!! it has a better rep than Spartan and in addition... is not banned in as many states as Spartan is.... check out the Indiana laws for example... for FMG/IMG's.... ANYhow.... trust me stick with Saba....
