    Couple of Questions...

    Advertisements

Hey all, just had a couple of questions:

    1. I have a lot of family and friends who live in the US and have been there for decades. Will they be able to sponsor me for a greencard? Does it matter what state they live in? Also, is it true that we have a 6 month wait before doing clinicals due to having to get hb1 visas?

    2. This is totally unrelated, but a friend of mine is writing the mcat this august and wanted to know if the Examkracker books are good (the complete study guides)......thought i'd ask here.

Thanks a lot......this site has been very informative and helpful!!

There are certain requirements for family sponsored greencard.

You don't need a H1B visa to rotate in your 3rd and 4th year for clinicals in US- you just need a B1 Business/Pleasure Visa.

    Hey, about examkrackers....

Examkrackers material kicks a*s!! I am using them to write the mcats. I also have the kaplan material. The major difference seems to be that examkrackers tends to focus on material more likely to be on the exam, while kaplan uses a shotgun approach (this is my opinion).

I still believe that kaplan stuff is good, and that is why I am using it as a reference for stuff that I'm not understanding in examkrackers (which is very little: I found it to be very well written ). In addition the examkrackers staff will answer questions posted on their bulletin board (ie. questions about their texts, possible erratta or problems you have understanding stuff).

Bottom line: examkrackers stuff is very good. there are a few posts on studentdoctor.net in the mcat discussions forum concerning EK materials, you may wish to check out what people are saying there.

    Hope I've helped.

    Cheers,

    Silenthunder
