Out of province recommendation letters and the match?

    Advertisements

I wanted to know if doing out of province rotations and getting recommendation letters from out of province Canadian doctors would help in the Carms match. For example, if I wanted to match in Ontario and I did a rotation in Manitoba or Newfoundland and got a recommendation letter there, would that be any better than normal US recommendation letters?

Of course I know in province rotations and letters are best but at this point it doesn't seem like I'll be able to get anything in-province.

    Thanks for the help!

Canadian letters (no matter which province) will be viewed better than standard US LORs...

Thats good, thanks Kananaskis_girl! I was wondering if I do get accepted for an out of province rotation if the money and effort to journey further away than some of my US rotations would be worth it. Seems like it will be.
